What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We collect minimal contact information – your name, phone number and email – and the nature or subject of your request.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Fooks-Michnya Associates LLC accepts no responsibility for the security of your Personal Information with other websites.

Analytics

Who we share your data with

When you send us e-mail we won’t share your e-mail address with anyone outside of Fooks-Michnya Associates LLC staff and contractors, and only as needed to reply to your requests for information. If you sign up for a course or an email list, we’ll only send you the kinds of information you’ve requested.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

We collect minimal contact information – your name, phone number and email – and the nature or subject of your request. If you become one of our clients, we don’t store your social security  number or other personal health information electronically.

Additional information

How we protect your data

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy. For example, we limit the amount of data we collect to the minimum necessary, ensure data is encrypted when in transit and storage, and strictly limit access to a minimum number of individuals and subject to confidentiality commitments.  Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to any of our websites; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorized access. When possible, encryption is used, both in transit and storage. Access controls within Fooks-Michnya Associates LLC limit who may access information.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the event of a data breach, we will follow our plan. This includes assessing the scope and severity of the breach (treating it like a crime scene) and immediately beginning a process of intervention, remediation and notification.

Third party provision of data or services on our behalf

We may from time to time use third party companies and individuals to provide data, facilitate services, and/or provide or perform certain aspects of the services on our behalf. Should we provide such vendors with access to user information, including Personal Information, such information is limited to only the information needed by the vendor to carry out the services they are performing for you or for us. Our vendors are obligated not to disclose or use Personal Information for any other purpose.

Although we may also use third party analytics service providers to evaluate and provide us with information about the use of the services and viewing of our content, we do not share Personal Information with these analytics service providers, but they may set and access their own cookies, web beacons and embedded scripts on your Device and they may otherwise collect or have access to information about you, including non-personally identifiable information.

We use a third party hosting provider who hosts our support section of our website. Information collected within this section of our website is governed by our Privacy Policy.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

Currently, tracking and metrics are used primarily to assess overall usage patterns to help us improve our products and services for the benefit of our users. Consequently, we may use collected Personal Information and user data to provide services on this website and target users for advertisements to remind them of the services we provide directly.

GDPR

As confidentiality is our top priority, we are committed to maintaining the highest level of privacy and information protection for all our users. While we do not specifically target EU citizens and have not identified every possible GDPR implication at this time, we intend and are working to comply with GDPR privacy and information protection rights.

If you prefer to remain completely anonymous, it is best to block or turn off cookie, Facebook pixel tracking or avoid this website. Our services are opt-in only and you are responsible for removing yourself if you want to remain anonymous or remove your information from our systems.
